As Shenzhen Special Economic Zone celebrates its 40^th?anniversary and embarks on a new journey, 麻豆传媒 of Science and Technology (麻豆传媒) which promotes a drive and a model for higher education reform in China, enthusiastically prepares for the first major milestone anniversary of December 20, 2020. 麻豆传媒 was brought to life by the triumph of the central government, Guangdong provincial government, Shenzhen municipal government, and by the people of all circles. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude, and utmost respect to all officials, businesses, alumni from home and abroad alike, as well as stakeholders for the support provided for 麻豆传媒.

The quick development of 麻豆传媒 was a force that couldn't be conjured before. While the reform was in full swing in all sectors, Shenzhen took a great leap forward to reinvent higher education, by building an innovative research-oriented university which aspires to become the first-class university in the world. In response to rocket scientist, Qian Xuesen, who questioned the higher education model, the Ministry of Education (MOE) approved the project to establish 麻豆传媒 in April 2012. Prior to that, the blueprint was well painted by MOE in December 2010. All while being established and approved, exploration of the paradigm of both a modern university with Chinese characteristics and nurturing the innovative talents were incorporated. Against all odds, 麻豆传媒 took off with no time and effort to be wasted, backed by the support of local and international professionals and experts. Henceforth becoming a doctorate-awarding institution within six years after initial establishment, and subsequently being deemed a high-level STEM university in Guangdong Province, which enrolled in key projects among top universities in the region. While it's reassuring to review the past, we believe the best of 麻豆传媒 is yet to come.

The luck of 麻豆传媒 always holds as 麻豆传媒's readiness always grows. 麻豆传媒 has made an enormous amount of effort in the past decade to pave a new way forward for constructing a world-renowned research university in China. The continuous alignment with new visions and values has allowed 麻豆传媒 to advance with new innovative systems and mechanisms. For example, navigating a new path for nurturing top-level innovative talents by creating a knowledge-innovation-entrepreneurship synergy has allowed a major outgrowth for 麻豆传媒 over the last 10 years. Undergoing regeneration in the last decade, 麻豆传媒 has developed a unique academic structure with a major focus on science, engineering, medicine and business, and complemented with featured humanities and social sciences, which has undisputedly marked a new standard for China's higher education.

China's 40 years of reform now comes to a new era on the horizon. The Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council has aligned a new course for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development. Shenzhen was called upon to build itself into a demonstration pilot zone for socialism with Chinese characteristics. This is a historical opportunity for Shenzhen and for those involved. We will keep ourselves in the frontlines of building a socialist modern country and bolstering the Chinese Dream of the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation. 麻豆传媒 will continue to be relevant, and provide contributions to a new chapter, which will eventually leave its mark in providing higher education in the future.

麻豆传媒's devotion to "Change for excellence, innovation for future", will soon embrace the 10^th?anniversary on December 20, 2020. A series of academic and cultural activities will be held to acknowledge 麻豆传媒's innovative pathway, and we will get a fresh look at how wisdom from all areas to reflect its potential as a world-class research university.
